Out now is the new collection of the online Dark Horse Presents stories— including the 2 part Solomon Kane: “All the Damned Souls At Sea” written by Scott Allie, drawn by myself and colored by the Eisner winning Dave Stewart (congrats Dave!) I also got to do the art for the wrap around cover to this volume featuring Conan, The Guild, Jekyll and Hyde and slew of other great stories featured inside!

GOREbook!

I was asked to be part of the new GOREBOOK, a collection of 11 different artists drawing an illustration around the theme of “gore”— seems like something I’d like to do! I’ve been invited back to the upcoming Heroes Comicon in North  Carolina this month, a nd I’m looking forward to returning to this great show! I’ll be there for all three days  and have some preview artwork to upcoming projects in my portfolio, along with original art, TPB’s, and Marquis T-shirts for sale. I’ve also provided a new B.P.R.D. pinup for the program book (the original line art to be auctioned off at the show).

You can find me at table 112 in artist alley — cornered next to the always amazing Mike Mignola.

On Saturday, June 5th at 4:30 pm I’ll also be on a panel with Ben Templesmith moderated by The Comics Reporter’s own Tom Spurgeon to talk about "Monsters and The Macabre in Comics"!

  Motor City Comic Con
May 14-16, Novi MI

It’s that time again! I’ll be setting up at the Motor City Comicon, I think I’ve done this show more than any other convention and look forward to coming back!

I’ll be attending all three days (May 14-16) and will have B.P.R.D. tpbs, Marquis t-shirts and original artwork for sale along with some surprises and some new artwork on display in the portfolio. Sorry, I won’t be taking any commissions at the show, but will be happy to draw a free head sketch as long as it’s personalized. Skatepark Benefit Art Show!

May 15th, Ann Arbor, MI

The Ann Arbor Skatepark Steering Committee and Vault of Midnight (awesome comicstore) is hosting the 2nd Annual Skatepark Benefit Art Show on May 15 from 6-11pm. Contributing artists, including myself, Becky Cloonan, Rob Sato, Anders Nilsen, and a slew of others used skate board decks as a canvas for customizing with original artwork. All contributed decks will be put up for a live auction with 100% of the proceeds going to benefit Ann Arbor’s very own skatepark! I got to be part of a great team up of 38 artists, each providing one page of art to friend and Zombies That Ate the World collaborator, Jerry Frissen’s new Mango book based on his Lucha Libre series for Les Humanoïdes Associés! More info (in French) over at the Humanoides site!

  C2E2 Comicon
April 16- 18, Chicago IL

I'll be at the big new Chicago comicon this month, C2E2— which is looking to be a monster of a show! I’ll be set up in artist alley at table #D3 with sketchbooks, Marquis t-shirts and original artwork for sale along with some surprise freebies! I’ll also be signing at the Dark Horse booth ( #459 ) with Mike Mignola on Saturday April 17th starting at 4pm for a special half hour with surprises for all the members who joined the B.P.R.D.! And then from 4:30-5:30 PMfor all non-agents and convention attendees. So if you haven’t joined the B.P.R.D. team, here’s your chance!

I’ll also be on the B.P.R.D. panel with Mike Mignola Saturday April 17th from 5:45- 6:45 PM in room E450. So if you’re at the show, please stop by the table to say hello!

Sandman Mystery Theatre Vol. 8
The Blackhawk and Return of the Scarlet Ghost!

The latest collection of Sandman Mystery Theatre stories that I worked on for DC/Vertigo written by Steve Seagle and Matt Wagner comes out this month. Volume 8 collects "The Blackhawk" wonderfully drawn by Matt Smith and "The Return of the Scarlet Ghost" that I did the artwork for.

JUDGE DREDD: OUTLAW
2000 AD Megazine #296

I got to draw a Judge Dredd short story, "Outlaw" in the new issue of 2000 AD's Megazine #296! Written by Rob Williams and colored by B.P.R.D. cohort Dave Stewart, the 10 page story finds Judge Dredd in the Cursed Earth dealing with muties, mountain monsters and a mysterious caretaker to a mutie settlement! On Sale March 31st, 2010.

 

SFX COMIC HEROES Magazine!
The first issue of the British COMIC HEROES Magazine (from SFX) is now on sale and contains an interview I did for the magazine along with a gallery of art from B.P.R.D., The Marquis, Judge Dredd and others!
 

  MSU Comics Forum
March 26-27, MSU Campus

I’ve been invited by the MSU Comics Forum to give this years keynote address at the Michigan State University in my neck of the woods Lansing, Michigan. Along with having some original artwork on display, I’ll be giving a digital presentation on comics and my work along with a Q&A on March 26 from 7-8:30pm at the RCAH Auditorium, Snyder/ Phillips Hall MSU Campus.

On March 27, from 11-5pm in the LookOut! Gallery, 2nd Floor RCAH Phillips/Snyder Hall MSU Campus— I’ll also be setting up with other local comic creators in the artist alley. I’ll have my portfolio on display along with some art and sketchbooks for sale and I’m always happy to say hello and sketch for anyone stopping by to chat. Both events are FREE and open to the public, so if you’re in town stop by the show!

  Modern Masters Volume #24

I was flattered to be the subject of the new Modern Masters book put out by TwoMorrows Publishing and onsale this week. Filled with art and sketches from my early days starting out with Quonto and The Realm, through current work on B.P.R.D. and The Marquis, Eric Nolen-Weathington talks to me at length about my career in comics over the years and hopefully I name drop horribly and tell a few entertaining stories along the way. 120 pages with 8 pages in full color!

  Toronto Cartoonist and Comicon Workshop

Gladstone Hotel / Metro Convention Centre
I’ve been invited by Art Originals and the Toronto Cartoonist Workshop to Canada for an art exhibition and presentation on storytelling. The 3 hour workshop is on Feb. 27 starting at 1pm and I’ll be discussing my career and also the process of creating a page from script to inks and storytelling steps involved. Later in the day I’ll be at the art exhibition from 7:30-11:30pm that will feature original artwork from B.P.R.D., Sandman Mystery Theatre, The Marquis and Zombies That Ate the World on display. 

On Sunday, Feb. 28 I’ll also be at the Toronto Comicon from 11-5pm. I won’t be taking on any commissions at the show but will be doing quick personalized card sketches and always happy to sign any books you want to bring by or just chat. So if you’re in the area, stop by and say hello!

While Liz and Abe lead a platoon of B.P.R.D. agents and soldiers into the Hollow Earth, Kate Corrigan travels to Austria to explore the ruins of Hunte Castle! Cheers to the future and a Happy New Year everyone! 2010 is already turning into a busy year and I couldn’t be happier. During the B.P.R.D.: 1947 break, I was working ahead on the new B.P.R.D. series, King of Fear which begins this month and concludes the Scorched Earth triology we started with B.P.R.D.: The Warning!

Also this year will be the new Marquis and the Midwife graphic novel from Dark Horse Comics, the next Solomon Kane mini-series “Death’s Black Riders” that I did some creature designs for and there’s some other surprises and announcements along the way, so check back soon and see what’s coming up!
